10 Ways to Care for You

IMG_1387

1. Schedule “Me Time.”

2. Practice walking meditation.

3. Get a professional massage and use self massage tools in between visits.

4. Journal.

5. Don’t make commitments to others out of guilt.

6. Eat clean at least 90% of the time.

7. Exercise. Walking, lifting weights, dancing, yoga (ashtanga, vinyasa, Bikram, or Kemetic) and Pilates are great choices. If you can’t do anything listed here, simply stretch daily.

8. Practice yoga (Hatha, Kundalini or Yin), Qi Gong, or Tai Chi.

9. Get some energy work (e.g. Reiki or Joh Rei). It works best after a massage, stretching, or yoga session.

10. Go to counseling. Talk therapy works wonders. Especially when the counselor incorporates metaphysical practices.

I’d love to hear what you do to take care of yourself in the Comments section.

Prevention Beats the Cure

IMG_1276.JPG

How do I keep my babies well while people contract virus after virus and infection after infection? Blackseed oil and bilberry syrup. The key is the ability of this concoction to reduce mucus and inflammation which is the root of most disease. I mix a tablespoon of bilberry syrup with a teaspoon of blackseed oil and I have an amazing healing potion that I give to my babies daily. You can take it too. Simply increase the dose to a tablespoon of bilberry syrup.

To make bilberry syrup, simply boil a handful of dried bilberries in two cups of clean water for 15 mins, strain, and add raw honey to taste. If you can’t find bilberries, elderberries work and they are much more affordable. Some people mix the blackseed oil with the bilberry syrup once it cools off. I like to keep them separate.

Store your healing magic in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. It’s easy as pie. Thank me later!

P.S. Children under the age of 1 cannot consume honey due to the potential threat of botulism.

Mama Reeci’s Cornbread

Masa harina is a great flour to use for those of us who have trouble digesting corn. It’s simply non-GMO corn soaked in cal (food grade pickled lime) to increase it’s alkalinity and make nutrients like niacin more bioavailable. This process was derived from an ancient indigenous American practice.

Here’s my recipe for some yummy plant based cornbread.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups masa harina flour

2 tsps baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp pink or grey salt

2 tablespoons extra virgin coconut oil

1 flaxseed egg (1 tablespoon flaxseeds in hot water for 15 minutes)

1/4 cup raw honey (or sweetener of your choice) adjust amount according to your taste

2 cups hemp milk (or other dairy free milk of your choice  I love hemp seed milk sweetened with date syrup)

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350.

Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients to form a batter.

Grease a glass 13×9 dish with coconut oil.

Add the batter to the glass dish.

Cook for 30 minutes or so (depends upon your oven and altitude)

Serve with a pot of greens or cabbage.

Smash that Cellulite!

img_0703

Have you ever seen a thin person with cellulite? Well I’m here to tell you there are probably more thin people with it than you think. What’s the reason? Cellulite is not a fat issue. It’s all about breaking up and smoothing out fascia, the network of connective tissue under our skin. It’s the biological fabric that holds us together and when it’s compromised, fat can bulge through no matter what size you are. Here are some tips to reduce the appearance of cellulite. If you stick to it, you can get rid of it all together. You can thank me later and send before and after pics.

  • Do a foam roller workout 5x per week.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Get in the dry sauna 5x per week.
  • Eliminate refined sugar and grains.
  • Practice yoga (not Hatha or Yin) or Pilates 5x per week.

Share your success smashing cellulite in the comments. Love and bliss!

It’s Time for a Liquid Fast

Sherrice Eating Clean

Liquid fasting is one of the best ways to reset your body and reverse the state of disease so that you’re able to hear from the great I Am within you.

We will be embarking on our liquid fast November 29-December 21, 2016. Stay with us the whole time or hang in there as long as you can. If you eat, so what, just start over. Here’s some information to help you get started.

ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS

Personally, I don’t fast to lose weight. Of course, depending upon how you do it, that could be a benefit. To lose weight on the liquid fast, stick mostly to the sea moss and G Juice drinks. To not lose weight on the liquid fast, the squash and lentil soups are your friends. Also nut butter and banana smoothies.

SAMPLE REGIMEN

People asked for a sample liquid fast regimen. I say don’t follow a template, be free. I know that some are just starting though so I’m willing to share some ideas. As you make it your own, you’ll consume only what you need and you’ll get more nutrients than ever before. Feel free to visit my online store to check out my meal supplements and herbal formulas to support you during this time. Herb Culture Online Store

Blend 1 tablespoon sea moss gel and 8 oz distilled water

Herbal infusions (some call this tea. Tea is a different plant than herbs)
* Boil 1 quart of spring or filtered water in a tea kettle.
* Remove the kettle of hot water from the heat.
* Add 1 ounce or so of the single herb of your choice in a large mason jar (1 quart size).
* Add stevia or raw honey to taste (the infusion is more beneficial with no sweetener).
* Pour the hot water in the jar to the point of almost overflowing.
* Place the cap on the jar.
* Allow it to sit undisturbed for the allotted amount of time.
– Roots/Bark: 8 hours
– Leaves: 4 hours
– Flowers: 2 hours
– Seeds/berries: 30 minutes
* For a super charge, let it bake in the sun on a hot sunny day.
* Strain the mixture to separate the herbs from the liquid.
* With clean hands, squeeze the herbs to get the medicinal juice into your infusion.
* Place it in the refrigerator if you prefer it cold. It can last up to three days, if refrigerated.
* Sip on the infusion throughout the day.

WARNING: Herbal infusions can cause adverse reactions if you are taking prescription medication. Also, it’s a good idea to research the herbs you’re using to determine whether or not they should be taken on an empty stomach.

Squash Soup

  • Cut away the squash covering and remove the seeds.
  • Cut a squash into cubes.
  • Bake in the oven on 375 for 30 minutes or until soft enough to blend.
  • Blend with 1/2 cup fresh dairy free milk.
  • For a sweet blend, add some allspice, a few pitted dates or a tablespoon or so of raw agave syrup.
  • For a savory blend, add pink salt and seasonings of choice like cumin or chili powder.

Vegetable Broth

  • Add distilled water to a crockpot pot until it’s half full.
  • Add a red onion, two handfuls kale greens, one bell pepper, a few diced shallots, and other vegetable of choice.
  • Put on low setting for six – eight hours.
  • Drain broth and add pink salt and cumin to taste.
If you don’t want to waste the veggies, blend them into a soup and add your favorite seasonings.

TV! You’re Not the Boss of Me!

mind-control2

Imagine a perfect day. You’re walking on sunshine and dancing on clouds. Everything is going your way. You walk into a store and what do you see on the TV? Yet another person being shot and killed by the police. How do you feel at that moment? Does your mood change? Are you suddenly angry or sad? Do you want to get revenge or just go somewhere and cry?

Let’s try another scenario. It’s still a perfect day. You’re still walking on sunshine and dancing on clouds. You’re sticking to your eating plan and you walk into a store and what do you see? Scrumptious chocolate chip cookies and ice cream and a happy family playing games while indulging in this sweet treat. The mom is skinny and happy and the dad looks like a modern-day Adonis or Appollo. Plus, he’s jolly and fun. The children look perfect and healthy. It’s a perfect scene filled with laughter and the sweet life (literally). How do you feel at that moment? Are you tossing that salad and quinoa aside? Are you feeling guilty because you want to toss it aside? Are you angry with the media for promoting consumerism, diabetes, and obesity?

What I notice in both scenarios is an attempt to control emotions through visuals. When we think of the quality of our health, it’s important to consider the impact of the visual images projected to our minds via the television. There’s solid research that shows media and advertising professionals how to get our endocrine systems to release chemicals that elicit specific responses. This is the real mind control that goes unnoticed each day.

I encourage you to think about what images you see each day. Start being mindful of any mood changes or sudden desires you experience when you see them. Knowledge is power when you know you’re being played. Now what will you actually do about it? I suggest you get some toddler defiance in your life and say, “TV! You’re not the boss of me!” Then turn it off and commit to only watching it a few times per week, if at all.

Love and light!

I’m not a feminist! I’m a healer!

image

I used to be a feminist who fought for women’s rights. One of those battles involved challenging  insurance companies who would not pay for birth control pills even though they paid for abortions. I won the battle and got on my birth contol pills and patches. Later in life, I had a womb full of fibroids, PCOS, HPV, and I was the woman with the issue of blood.

The doctors who put me on the birth control had no viable solutions for my maladies.  I did some research and discovered my woes were caused by the birth control I fought for, sex with energetic vampires, and my dietary choices. Ain’t karma a bitch? When you fight for the system, you get system-filled diseases.

Thank goodness for the blood of African and Native American healers flowing through my veins. I knew that going to Source would solve my problems. I was healed by the energetic power of Source flowing through a spirit filled woman, dietary changes, castor oil, and herbs. I no longer prescribe to labels that weren’t meant for me in the first place. I participated in a system that made me sick and was healed by the energy and plants of Source. That’s why I’m not a feminist. I’m a healer.
