Flower Power Hair Mask

This amazing hair mask will condition and strengthen your hair while giving it some natural color at the same time. Enjoy and share pics!

INGREDIENTS

1/8 cup Hibiscus powder

1/4 cup pure henna powder

A few drops of rosemary essential oil

A few drops of lemongrass essential oil

Enough hot purified water to make it like a pancake batter.

DIRECTIONS

Put on some gloves, old clothes and surround yourself with old sheets and or towels. This stuff stains. It’s natural dye.

Mix the ingredients well.

Apply to your hair and put on a plastic cap.

Put on your thermal cap and allow it to sit for one hour. Without a thermal cap, an hour and a half. You can keep it in for up to four hours for deeper conditioning and a longer lasting color.

Rinse it out extremely well. If the herbal smell is too much for you, you can shampoo it with a mild, sulfate free shampoo

Prepare for the Cold Season When Its Warm

Before this cold season gets going, get or do the following stuff. Preparation is the key.

1. Mullein and garlic oil

2. Netipot and enema bag

3. Eucalyptus and camphor essential oil

4. Egyptian blackseed oil

5. Elderberries

6. Raw honey

7. Keep lemons and limes in the fridge for you water, teas, and infusions.

8. Make vegetable broth and freeze it.

9. Mullein, red clover, blue vervain, alfalfa and Kalawalla organic and non GMO herbs.

10. Irish moss aka sea moss.

11. Turmeric, ginger, and basil

Devil’s Claw Root Ain’t Evil!

What’s in a name? Everything! Yet when it comes to herbs, we have to keep an open mind. Devil’s Claw Root (Harpagophytum procumbens) is a South African herb that brings pain relief like you wouldn’t believe. She’s a warrior root who grows well in deserts and overgrazed soil. She digs her roots in the ground and grows like a champ in these conditions, producing both a deep and secondary root. Her smell repels predators to ensure her survival. She’s gangsta! Rumor has it that inexperienced harvesters don’t realize they should leave the deep root and only take the secondary root to avoid extinction. We need to school them now!

Some say her element is fire, others say it’s earth. Either way, she possesses cooling properties that alleviate the heat of pain by reducing inflammation, one of the roots of many diseases. And guess what? This has actually been proven in laboratory studies.

I’ve worked with her personally and for my clients when I sold herbal formulas. I prefer to grind and encapsulate the root because the bitter taste can sometimes be intolerable. She’s great for those experiencing any type of pain related to inflammation – arthritis, headaches, and gout are just a few examples. When I struggled with chronic pain that no medical professional could explain, she was my go to. And since she helps with diarrhea, constipation, and flatulence, as well.

Her powers are strengthened if you eliminate refined and raw sugar, processed food, and fried food from your dietary lifestyle. Since she has blood thinning properties, she doesn’t mix well with prescription drugs intended to thin the blood.

Her name is indicative of her nature and her claw shaped roots. Ironically, this name is associated with the world’s definition of evil yet she’s known to bring protection by confusing her enemies. Her beauty is intriguing yet her protective smell will keep predators at bay. Root workers have been known to place her roots on a piece of burning charcoal to ward off negative energy.

Prevention Beats the Cure

How do I keep my babies well while people contract virus after virus and infection after infection? Blackseed oil and bilberry syrup. The key is the ability of this concoction to reduce mucus and inflammation which is the root of most disease. I mix a tablespoon of bilberry syrup with a teaspoon of blackseed oil and I have an amazing healing potion that I give to my babies daily. You can take it too. Simply increase the dose to a tablespoon of bilberry syrup.

To make bilberry syrup, simply boil a handful of dried bilberries in two cups of clean water for 15 mins, strain, and add raw honey to taste. If you can’t find bilberries, elderberries work and they are much more affordable. Some people mix the blackseed oil with the bilberry syrup once it cools off. I like to keep them separate.

Store your healing magic in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. It’s easy as pie. Thank me later!

P.S. Children under the age of 1 cannot consume honey due to the potential threat of botulism.

Klip Dagga – Better than a Massage!

As you all know, I’m an herbal enthusiast and when I discover something amazing, I tell the world about it. Not too long ago, I was that quintessential career woman who uncorked an amazing bottle of red wine at least twice per week. It was my way to relax after working with people all day long. Since that time, I’ve incorporated energy work into my lifestyle yet, I still missed that relaxing feeling from an amazing glass of Chianti so I decided to try Klip Dagga.

Most people smoke this lovely flower as an alternative to marijuana. I’m not into the whole smoking thing and definitely not into “getting high,” so I decided to make an infusion. Within minutes, I felt a relaxation that words can’t describe. I was mellow and chill yet quite functional. Almost how you feel after a good relaxing massage while you’re on a cleanse but even better. Many of the other herbs that bring about this effect make me want to sleep. Not this one. It was relaxing and amazing. Now, I enjoy a mason jar full whenever I want to “chill out.” I was also glad to learn about the physical benefits of this herb. It’s an antihistamine, antispasmodic, great for headaches, and so much more. I’ve found that it’s great for that meditative time, as well.

I still love my Chianti as an occasional treat. In fact, I found a great red blend called 1448 when I went to Wine and Vibe at Lindsey’s Door 7. An amazing healing experience led by the amazing Satori Seals. Maybe next time, I’ll take some Klip Dagga infusion. I bet they would all get a kick out of that. In the meantime, I’ll enjoy that treat from time to time with my hubby.

Magnificient Mugwort!

Mugwort is the universal herb for protection and prophecy in the dream world.  It’s a visionary herb, so it’s often used for divination and ritual practices. While it’s great for infusions, some people mix it with damiana and mullein for smoking blends. I’ve even burned it along with or in place of sage when we sit by the fire outside at night for protection and clearing. It’s a nice herb to burn for meditation practice, as well.  Magnificient mugwort also relaxes the uterus to bring on late menstural cycles. This herb is an abortifacient so don’t consume it if you’re expecting a bundle of joy.

Sugar – The Eye Killa!

Several years ago, I decided to start a journey to heal my eyes. From 1990-2011, my visual acuity had declined each year. My prescription for eye glasses and contacts was getting stronger and stronger. Then in 2012 and 2013, my visual acuity remained steady. In 2014, something miraculous happened, my vision actually improved. What did I do? I significantly reduced my intake of sugary foods.

Typically, a change in your vision is one of the first indicators of insulin resistance or diabetes. But what they don’t tell you is that these conditions doesn’t start overnight. As we eat sugar, especially the white, refined sugar many of us love, our bodies become acidic and full of mucus, the blood and lymph thicken, and our internal organs, including our eyes, begin a slow decaying process. If you want to get old quickly, eat more sugar. I started eating candy, cakes, and cookies like they were going out of style as a young child. Then when I became an adult, I added wine and fruity cocktails to the equation. Of course, all of those foods were full of sugar. 1. G Juice! Green Juice Redefined

Several years ago, Queen Mama Moon introduced a group of us to the concept of an internal deodorizer called gorilla juice. The juice contained three ingredients, chlorella, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and stevia. The concept is that chlorella is one of the most potent sources of chlorophyll, which is an internal deodorizer and lemon juice helps clean out the liver. This green drink has been a blessing to my life and I’ve “freaked it” to make it my own. Here’s my customized blend.

  • 32 ounces spring water
  • 1 tablespoon chlorella powder
  • 1 tablespoon spirulina or moringa powder
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • A few pinches of green stevia leaf powder (or more if you’d like)

The students in my herbal certification class have created a plethora of variations. Some have added kelp or Klamuth blue green algae. In fact, a few added turmeric. No matter which way you slice it, this beverage is the truth. I consume this drink several times a day and have noticed tremendous benefits and here’s why.

Both chlorella and spirulina are amazing, nutrient dense super foods that promote the production of new red blood cells. A higher red blood cell count increases the amount of oxygen in your blood, thus giving you an amazing boost of energy. All of the Gorilla Juice ingredients have detoxifying effects that help to regenerate the skin. Rumor has it that cancer patients who have no adverse reactions to the drink thrive and recover faster when consuming it. In fact, anyone suffering from a degenerative disease or seeking to boost their already great health should do their research and determine whether our not this drink is for you. Chlorella is a type of single-celled, fresh water algae that has antiviral and antibacterial properties. Stevia is a plant with a naturally sweet taste. While that taste can be bitter, it happens to blend great with this drink. I believe it has something to do with how well it mixes with the lime juice. It’s a zero calorie sweetener that will not harm your body so it’s great for those who are watching their weight or experiencing diabetes or candida. This herb helps with heartburn, indigestion, and high blood pressure.

Working as a health coach has allowed me to see the danger of sugar in many people’s lives. Sometimes, we need help to overcome this addiction. I suggest turning to gymenema sylvestre. This amazing herb decreases the absorption of sugar in the intestine, promotes regeneration of insulin-secreting cells in the pancreas, positively impacts cholesterol levels, helps increase insulin levels, reduces physical cravings for sugar and literally masks it’s taste. While this herb doesn’t have pain killing power, many of my clients who have used it have reported that they no longer experience joint pain. The reduction in sugar in the diet as a result of consuming this herb along with the herbs ability to help the body eliminate sugar from the blood in a productive manner are just two of the reasons their pain might be going away. Body builders may find a friend in this herb because when taken with a high-carbohydrate meal or with a meal high in sugar, it passes through sugars and makes carbs available for burning and prevents them from turning into fat stores. Kick Butt To Eradicate Hemorrhoid Pain

How many of you are suffering from hemorrhoids? I had the pleasure of experiencing the pain of hemorrhoids during my first pregnancy. I was amazed to find out how common this health complaint is for both men and women. Not being conscious, I used an over the counter product my dad purchased for me at the drug store. It worked for a while however, since I didn’t deal with the real issue, they came back. I later found out that the iron supplements I was taking caused me to be constipated and led to the hemorrhoidal situation. That’s why I’m passionate about natural sources of iron from spirulina, moringa, and yellow dock just to name a few options. I was led to write this blog to share some information that has blessed me over the years the few times the situation rose again.

What are hemorrhoids? Hemorrhoids are swollen and/or inflamed veins in your anus and/or rectum. They can be internal or external. I was surprised to learn that they are actually a form of varicose veins.
